This project was conducted under our previous trading name, Straw Works. We worked with Harriet and Andrew Wishart, near Canterbury to design their new terrace of 3 loadbearing 2 storey houses, to be used as holiday lets for people with mobility difficulties and their carers. We helped them achieve Planning and Building regulation approval and provided them with construction drawings.
The School of Natural Building ran training courses with them on-site and Andrew worked more than full time, very proficiently learning by doing whilst Harriet also learnt lots of practical skills alongside keeping up with the kids and the animals. We provided support via phone calls and emails, whilst the project was on site. By putting in an incredible effort Andrew and Harriet managed to get the construction cost down to £750 per square metre, which is an incredible achievement.
